Membership Information

Membership in the Molders Division is open to all Class 1 Company Members of The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. who process plastics compounds by the molding of the same through use of blow, injection, compression, rotation, or other transfer methods.

There are two types of members in the Molders Division they are:

Molder Member: Voting membership in the Division shall be open to all Class I members of the Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. who process plastics compounds by the molding of the same through use of blow, injection, compression, rotation, or other transfer methods.

Associate Member: Non-Voting membership shall be open to any member in good standing of The Society of Plastics Industry, Inc. which devotes a significant part of its efforts to the molding industry.

The SPI Molders Division serves its membership by:

  • Providing networking opportunities to share industry information.
  • Developing and providing pertinent industry publications, including Standards and Practices of Plastics Molders and Cosmetic Specifications of Injection Molded Parts.
  • Providing leadership and a funding source for National Employee Certification (Orient Me!) programs.
  • Hosting annual conferences featuring educational seminars and noted industry speakers.
  • Representing industry in dealing with OSHA on machine safety standards.
  • Assisting molders by developing mold lien/retention laws.
  • Publishing a quarterly Division Newsletter.
  • Helping form critical and ad hoc leadership to promote and protect industry needs.
